A Visit From Erik Hanberg

Mr. Fry told us that he called a guest speaker. I thought he would be a teacher or his friend. And, I realized that he was a energetic entrepreneur. His name is Erik Hanberg. He is the founder of Radio Podcast “Channel 253“. The thing made him successful is that he is also a successful writer. Erik Hanberg has published more than ten books. I think that was very impressive to be successful by following his dream to be a writer.

In the class, he talked about his life journey about how he find his interest. He said he found it during his middle school, by writing fictional genre. I said he was happy to publish his first book although this book has 80 pages. What I have learned from him is that he did not skip his interest and make his dream come true. Then he explained that how technology support his business and his career. After publishing the first book, Erik continued to publish another books year after year. There is an obstacle was that he could not advertise his products in the whole United States. Buying space in the bookstores was not a good idea because there is small range to advertise his books. He explained Amazon online book stores helped a lot to show audiences. E-commerce is the easiest and the most effective way to promote products. This can reduce other costs such as renting store, transportation and purchasing billboards. He said that E-commerce improve lifestyle especially shopping. People can purchase every item immediately by clicking “Buy now”.

After the e-commerce, I asked him about his story. I ask him about making various plans because I think creating various plans in your career makes you adapt your future well. However, Erik said that various plans make you mislead your main focus. And he suggested that making mistakes is one of the to be successful and do not afraid to be fail. I think his answer because he said that based on his experience.
